Every Mississippi county is served by an Area Agency on Aging. Your local agency can help you ask about home-delivered meals, senior meal sites and other food resources.

Two Main Types of Meal Help

Home-Delivered Meals

Meals may be available for older adults who have difficulty preparing food for themselves and who meet program eligibility requirements.

Your Area Agency on Aging will complete or arrange an assessment to determine eligibility and availability.

Community Meal Sites

Senior centers and nutrition sites across Mississippi offer meals in a community setting.

These programs can provide both nutritious food and an opportunity to socialize and participate in activities.

SENIOR FOOD BOXES

Commodity Supplemental Food Program

Mississippi's Commodity Supplemental Food Program, often called CSFP, provides eligible adults age 60 and older with a monthly food package designed to supplement their diet.

Local agencies determine eligibility and distribute the food boxes.
