ABOUT ANCHORED SOULS

Inspired by "Madear".
Rooted in Mississippi.

A personal story. A meaningful mission. A welcoming place to enjoy a little something each day.

It started with Madear.

Anchored Souls began with someone very dear to me—my grandmother, whom we lovingly called Madear, as so many Southern families do.

Madear was a beautiful woman and a nurse. She loved playing solitaire on the computer, and her favorite television show was Family Feud.

As she grew older, I would stop by with my children after church. We would sing with her and share a little devotion. Those simple moments of connection seemed to be the highlight of her day.

A song. A little devotion. Time together.
Simple moments that meant so much.

Those visits helped me see how much it matters to have something to enjoy, someone to connect with and a little encouragement to look forward to. That became the heart of Anchored Souls.

Our Mission

To enrich the lives of older adults by creating meaningful opportunities for connection, engagement, encouragement and continued participation in everyday life.

From Hernando, With Heart

From my home in Hernando, Mississippi, I’m building Anchored Souls with the warmth and connection that inspired those visits with Madear.

Here, adults 55+ can find free games, meaningful activities, familiar memories, helpful resources and uplifting content—simple opportunities to think, play, remember, reflect and stay connected.

Whether you stop by for a game, a story or a quiet moment of encouragement, I hope you find something that brightens your day.

You’re always welcome here.

Come as you are. Enjoy things at your own pace. And let us give you a little something to look forward to.
